Today, Federal Minister Alexander Dobrindt is launching mFUND to promote digital innovations. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure will provide about 100 million euros by 2020 to support the development of digital business ideas that are based on mobility, spatial and weather data. This includes, for example, new navigation services, innovative sharing platforms, intelligent journey planning or high-precision weather apps.
Mr Dobrindt said:
With the mFUND we are providing 100 million euros for digital mobility innovations. By doing so, we are creating a strong ecosystem for start ups. Our funding kicks in the moment digital ideas are born and supports founders and start ups in realizing these ideas - from the initial concept via the development to commercial maturity.
Mobility is one of the major fields of digital innovation. The interconnection of vehicles and infrastructure, of different modes of transport and of mobility, spatial and weather data will significantly change transport. The mFUND is the BMVI’s contribution to Germany leading the way in this development and proactively shaping the leap to mobility 4.0.
Founders and developers can immediately apply for financial support from the mFUND for their digital ideas. Further information can be found at: www.mfund.de
