National Diesel Forum

On 2 August 2017, the "National Diesel Forum“, comprising Federal Ministers Dobrindt, Hendricks, Schäuble, Zypries und Wanka, the Minister-Presidents of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland plus the Governing Mayor of Berlin and the First Mayor of Hamburg, met with representatives of the automotive industry in Berlin.

The Federal Government and the federal states have set out their requirements and measures in a joint statement on the "National Diesel Forum" in order to make an effective contribution to a speedy and lasting reduction in NOx emissions and to the protection of the health and consumer rights of the public.

The common objective of the Federal Government, the federal states and the automotive industry is to ensure sustainable mobility, prevent a sweeping ban on diesel-powered vehicles and safeguard jobs and consumer rights.
